  <title>GNOME-APPLET</title> 

  <para> <application>GNOME-APPLET</application>, shown in <xref
  linkend="GNOME-APPLET-fig1">, doesn't do anything
  useful. To add this applet to the panel, right-click on the panel
  and choose

    <title> Usage</title>

      As was said earlier, this applet doesn't do anything useful. To
      use it, just left-click on it. 
    </para>
    <para> If you right-click on the applet, it brings up a
    <guimenu>menu</guimenu>, containing the following commands: 
      <itemizedlist>

	  <para>
	    <guimenuitem>Remove from panel</guimenuitem> &mdash;
	    self-explanatory 
	    </para>
	</listitem>
	<listitem>
	  <para>
	    <guimenuitem>Move applet</guimenuitem> &mdash; allows you
	    to move the applet to a different place on the panel. You
	    can also move the applet by dragging it  with the
	    middle  mouse button.

	    <guimenuitem>Properties</guimenuitem>&mdash; brings up
	    <link linkend="GNOME-APPLET-prefs">
                <guilabel>Properties</guilabel>

  <sect2 id="GNOME-APPLET-prefs">
    <title>Customization</title>
    <para>
      You can customize <application>GNOME-APPLET</application> by
      right-clicking on it and choosing
      <guimenuitem>Properties</guimenuitem>. This will launch
      <interface>Properties</interface> dialog, which allows you to
      change various settings.
